2025 was another big year for Citymapper's collaborations with cities and transit authorities.

Across the globe, transit agencies continue to work with Citymapper, helping transport users move around their cities more efficiently, smoothly, and with less hassle.

Some of the places we worked with in 2025 are:

And while we strengthened local connections, we also expanded our global reach…

Fueled by a little Wanderlust, we went all over the globe (and hopefully, we took you with us!), adding new cities to our map 🗺️:

🇺🇸 US: our coverage now includes all major metro areas (hi St. Louis, Cincinnati and Indianapolis)
🇨🇦 Canada: also covering Québec City
🇯🇵 Japan: expanded across the wider Greater Tokyo Area
🇪🇺 Europe: Innsbruck, expansions in Bavaria (Germany) and the Midlands (UK) and more...

We now cover 430 cities globally, adding 25 million people to our coverage in 2025. LA, Tokyo, London to Ibiza, making Pitbull proud.

No worries – we stayed on top of all strikes, unexpected disruptions, planned closures, and cultural events throughout 2025. In total, we handled 10 million disruptions worldwide, keeping you moving no matter what 🫡

Seamless journeys, one tap away 💳

Even with all the strikes, detours, and unexpected events, Citymapper made sure your journeys stayed simple and seamless.

This year, we levelled up ticketing: plan your trip, buy tickets, and hop on – all without leaving the app.

First launched in the Midlands (UK), now expanded to Miami and Chattanooga (US), and compatible with all major ticket providers. Expect more cities in 2026!

When your bus takes a detour 😱

Even with ticketing sorted, sometimes the route itself changes. Roadworks, events, or surprise stop closures can throw off your plan – but Citymapper has you covered.

This year, we started showing bus route diversions on the map, so you’ll know the exact path you’re on and which stops will be skipped. Rollout is gradual, so keep an eye out for this in your city soon.
